Our history goes back to the end of the 19th century<\/span>, at number 115 of the emblematic Barcelona's ramblas<\/span>. Over time, it has gone through different stages and transformations.<\/p>\n

The building that houses Barra & Art is part of the Real Academia de Ciencias y Artes de Barcelona<\/strong>, a building inaugurated in 1894 and designed by the architect Jos\u00e9 Dom\u00e9nech y Estap\u00e1. Since its foundation, this place has been a meeting point for lovers of art, culture and gastronomy.<\/p>\n

The Ramblas and the theater, which in its early days was known as the Cine Mart and is now known as the Teatro Poliorama, are connected by a doorway, which has seen numerous theatrical performances, comedies, and commercial musicals that have enriched the lively vibe of the area.<\/p>\n

Before becoming Barra & Art<\/span>, this historic space housed the Antigua Casa Mumbr\u00fa<\/strong>, a well-known Barcelona delicatessen that had been operating since 1889, and in 1987, the place underwent a change when the Catalonian company Viena<\/strong> transformed it into a fast food restaurant.<\/p>\n

In 2016, the establishment was recognized and protected by the Barcelona City Council<\/span> as one of the city's emblematic businesses with the category E2<\/strong>, interest establishments. Both its interior and fa\u00e7ade have been carefully preserved, maintaining its historical charm and its connection with the past.<\/p>\n

Today, Barra & Art is a unique and special place that is part of the catalogue of emblematic stores in Barcelona.
